Taschen
Taschen, the German publishing house, was founded in 1980 by Benedikt Taschen in Cologne. It all began with Taschen Comics, with which the founder published his large collection of comics. Later, Taschen moved on to re-editions of books on art, artistic photography, design, painting, fashion, history, advertising, cinema and architecture. Today, Taschen publishes books that deal with controversial topics, divulging the less visible issues and problems. Among the topics considered taboo: Queer Art, eroticism, fetishism, pornography and adult magazines. The ultimate aim of the publishing house remains to make innovative and artistic books accessible to the general public.
