Tu Bi

TU BI is a Milan-based project conceived by independent designer and professor of fashion design, Ivan Tafuro. After studying Fashion design at Istituto Marangoni, he began his career as a menswear designer collaborating with prestigious Italian and European brands. In 2019 he decided to approach the world of ceramics at Officine Saffi in Milan, making the techniques of the renowned reality of Italian archaic craftsmanship his own. For Tafuro, recent years have presented an opportunity for the observation of urban space and for creative exercise in translating visual reality into imaginary reality, and imaginary reality into artifact. Through this process, the urban elements and decorations of the city of Milan become tubular sculptures. TU BI's aesthetic is bold, ironic and colorful in perfect harmony with the postmodern manifestations of the 1900s. He wants to influence the daily life of his audience who will be able to perceive each work in different ways.
