The cosmetic cult brand, 19-69, was founded in 2017 by Swedish artist and product developer, Johan Bergelin. He was born in the year 1969 and relates the time to freedom, tolerance, and counterculture; all important themes in the brand as a lot of its inspiration comes from different iconic movements of counterculture throughout history. Diverse countries, cultures, music, colors, and art have also influenced 19-69 products. The brand launched at Colette in Paris with five fine perfumes that had a twenty-four month-long creation process by Scandinavian, French, and Italian artisans. The different color of each product creates a rainbow, which was often used as a peace and freedom representation in 1969. 19-69 creates fragrances that are suitable for any gender, pushing each individual to explore beauty with no boundaries.
