Futuristic designs with a provocative punk edge
South Korean born designer Kaimin studied Fine art and was the protégé for the late visionary, Nam June Paik. She then moved to New York and worked as a stylist for prestigious campaigns and editorials, putting her in contact with some of the top people in the industry. Now for her own eponymous label, KAIMIN, the designer brings her curiosity and creativity to clothing form. She is obsessed with creating harmony between two opposites and searches for extreme beauty, exploring ideas of fetishism, eroticism and sadomasochism through fashion. Clothes dissect and distort the human body and have bondage and punk references. Kaimin uses lace and leather and works in a strict color palette. We are left with a thrilling new vision of clothing for a modern human, one who dresses entirely for her own pleasure.
