Martine Rose was founded in 2007 as a men’s brand for shirting. The London-based label’s vision disrupts and blurs the traditional boundaries of masculinity. Designer Martine Rose takes inspiration from the early nineties rave, reggae, and hip-hop subcultures of south London. She reinterprets key pieces in menswear by exaggerating proportions, deconstructing silhouettes, creating unexpected drapings, adding ruching, and accenting cut-outs. Martine Rose and her namesake label hold a significant place in contemporary menswear.
