The young and avant-garde menswear label, BOTTER, was founded by Rushemy Botter alongside creative partner, Lisi Herrebrugh, after he graduated from Antwerp’s Royal Academy in 2017. Botter, being from Curaçao, and Herrenbrugh, being half from Dominican Republic, provide the brand with a cool, fresh presence directly derived from their Caribbean roots. Their collections are composed of diligent research, elegant designs, rare details, and poetic feelings. Through vibrant and provocative aspects, the great potential of rebellious youth is exposed, which the designers believe can be a highly constructive force. Botter and Herrebrugh give much relevance to the representational creativity they apply as if the collections were personal diaries in which they express their points of view, heritage, and opinions on the world.
