However, their history started on a beach in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood – this is where Douglas Thompkins and Susie Buell, two hiking enthusiasts, teamed up in 1966 to open a small mountaineering store. Today, The North Face continues to deliver a line of outdoor apparel and equipment, pushing the envelope in terms of innovation and design, while staying true to their hiking roots. There’s no telling what the future holds, but what’s certain is that The North Face will continue to push the limits, so you can push your own limits outdoors and never stop exploring.
