Amy’s Guide to LFW - London-header

The ins and outs of fashion week with the woman at the helm of Cosmopolitan UK’s fashion department.

London Fashion Week is… Fun!!! Don’t forget it’s fun. We are so lucky to do what we do and to have so many inspiring moments.

Fashion Week Survival Tip?
Having fun with my friends, it’s a great chance to catch up with people I don’t get to see enough.

Who are you looking forward to seeing?
J.W. Anderson, my denim gurus Marques Almeida and Isabel Marant.

The last song I shazzamed during a show was…
New Dorp. New York by SBTRKT – while in Paris!.

What pieces will everyone be wearing during fashion week this season?
Oh goodness I’m sure there will be a lot of Gucci and VETEMENTS. I will be living in my friend Lucy’s vintage Levis denim skirt, that’s the sign of an amazing friend – to lend me her favorite item of clothing! Also a vintage PVC biker jacket I bought. The PVC Marant mini is going to be very useful too, worn with an old white T.

Snapchat or Instagram?
Insta, have got a bit of an addiction…. Do they have Insta rehab yet?! I am finding my feet with Snap Chat and have had a few filter based evenings at the pub choking with laughter. The “bread face” is my favorite.

What is the key to a killer outfit?
Feeling comfortable and happy before you leave the house, I don’t understand when people reinvent their wardrobe for the shows. Obviously a new purchase always makes you feel happy, so I highly recommend some shopping!

How is London style different from, say Paris, Milan, New York?
It’s more relaxed, I think people are less prescriptive and like to forge their own way rather than following some kind of fashion mathematics. It certainly makes for good people watching!.

Amy’s Guide to LFW - blue-post

“A good old fashion pub like The Blue Posts on Berwick St. There’s nothing that a good G&T can’t fix.”

Amy’s Guide to LFW - juicy-island

“When I need a coffee on the go I stop by….Juice Island on Lexington St for an iced almond Matcha – it makes me feel alert without making me feel on the edge like a coffee…”

Amy’s Guide to LFW - triyoga

“My favorite hidden city spot is…TriYoga in Soho to take some time out and find a moment of calm. My teacher Leila Sadeghee is a magical peace giving machine”
