HAY was founded in 2002 with the ambition to encourage Danish furniture design to return to the innovative greatness of the 1960’s in a contemporary context. Today that ambition has not changed. HAY looks back with pride at the age of Danish Modern where quality, craftsmanship and humanistic design put Denmark on the global map, and excitement towards the future with many possibilities to explore new technologies, new materials, and new ways of living with furniture. HAY designs functional answers to functional needs, answers that are translated into meaningful and authentic products with a long life span. To achieve this goal, HAY works with emerging and established designers to deliver innovative, quirky, and innovative ideas that are translated into sophisticated forms.
