LVR.COM presents Jain

How a distinct sound and original aesthetic turned the Parisienne singer into Pop’s newest darling.

In one short year Jain has achieved the kind of recognition many artists work for their entire careers. Her televised performance at the French Grammy’s, Les Victoires de la Musique, catapulted her into the spotlight and saw her climb charts across. Success may have arrived overnight, but Jain’s joyous, sun-soaked, rhythm-driven sound has been brewing for years. The contemporary rhythm and infectious lyrics a testament to her maturity as an artist and her wide range of musical influences – Arabic percussion, African rhythms, electro, reggae, soul and hip hop among them.

Jain takes listeners on a journey from adolescence to adulthood with her first album, Zanaka.

Named after the word for childhood in Malagasy, her mother’s native tongue, the album is an endearing and uplifting mix of catchy tunes, each of which chronicle a different chapter in the artist’s life. Fresh and playful, the songs capitalize on the power of music as way of expressing emotion and inciting it, a universal concept with serious staying power. Right of the bat, the artist set herself apart with ‘Come’, one of the ten tracks featured on Zanaka. The instant summer hit was made even more successful by a visually stunning music video that, similar to her music, showcases a range of different influences.

Special thanks to: Jain
