Drinks with the girls. Sunday brunch. Date Night. Not sure what to wear? Giambattista Valli has the answer.

Almost a decade after his debut show in Paris, the famed designer decided to branch out and add to his already extensive resume introducing a new prêt-à-porter line, GIAMBA. Although often misrepresented as a secondary line, the womenswear collection is an extension of the work he has built over the past decade and exists in a space parallel to Valli’s already established haute couture collections. Simply put, GIAMBA is his answer to the modern woman’s everyday wardrobe. It is easy to wear yet still whimsical and playful – feminine designs imbued with a slightly rebellious spirit.

If the long list of long-limbed beauties who count the designer as a favorite – Joan Smalls, Lily Collins, Cara Delevingne,…– isn’t enough to sell you on the line, a closer look at the Spring Summer 2017 resort and runway collections surely will. Scroll down for the top three reasons (yes, there are many more!) why GIAMBA should be on your radar this season.

1. The man behind the brand

Giambattista Valli’s CV speaks for itself. Born in Rome, the young creative studied design at Istituto Europeo del Design before finding his footing working alongside a number of the Italian greats, Roberto Capucci, Fendi and Emanuel Ungaro, to name a few. Valli decided to make the move to the heart of haute couture when it came to launching his own eponymous collection, and has been a fixture of Paris Fashion Week since mid 2005. The designer draws  from his surroundings, his Roman background and new found home of Paris providing a plethora of inspiration.

2. Easy essentials…. that work effortlessly with your existing pieces

Giambattista Valli’s answer to the modern woman’s wardrobe is flirty, functional and flattering separates that can be worn separately or styled as seem on the runway. The designer’s ability to tap into contemporary youth culture so seamlessly comes across loud and clear. The collection is extremely wearable, not to mention instagrammable and is everything you look for in a Spring Summer collection – flirty silhouettes, lightweight fabrics, playful prints and a fresh palette of pastels (millennial pink anyone?)

3. Expert Craftsmanship

The designer brings the same level of talent and attention to detail associated with his couture collections to GIAMBA, favoring construction and exquisite detailing in the form of masterfully layered tulle and lace as well as intricate embroidery. He marries style and substance to what could only be described as ready-to-wear perfection.
