Francesca Villa's jewels bring together and describe experiences with mementoes of journeys that she has loved and carried with her and inside her. Original creations, each one a strictly individual piece, all designed and "captured" from faraway cultures and transformed into jewels. Amethysts, diamonds, pearls, gold, sapphires and coral but also antique Chinese inlaid buttons, holly images, amulets, pins, gambling chips and 19th century American daguerreotypes are 'revisited' and set alongside in startling, unusual ways. Every combination is the result of a search inspired by abstraction and story-telling, which is expressed through the meaning of every piece.
